Puppies...
Well puppies has turned into puppy. Tasia had the chance to sell one of the puppies for a considerable amount over $25 so I told her to go ahead. She breeds them for the money not to give them away. We really aren't that upset because we had only planned on getting one to begin with so it worked out okay.
I am still really excited. I have been asking for another puppy since we got Hyde.
Hyde is feeling tons better and was caught trying to eat a banana on my kitchen counter this morning. I know your thinking a dog eating a banana. Yes, a banana. Hyde loves fruit and veggies. There is actually very little he won't eat. Between him and Mason I get absolutely nothing done all day. They both get into so much stuff over and over again that it is just scary.
It is very nice to have my rambunctious little dog back though.

Jamie Johnson- politician
While sitting at the fair I had no one to watch Mason so a couple of days we packed up the stroller and he had to sit with me. Jamie Johnson is running for the house in the state of Iowa and is from Stratford, he had seen me there with my son and thought to get a kissing baby photo with him. Well on Saturday morning he came through our building and Mason was with Grandma Robin so he had to settle for a senior citizen. It was comical at the time because Louann, the senior citizen, was sitting at the United Fund booth. A very good cause by the way, but it was sitting next to the Boman Funeral Home booth. Nothing says cares about seniors like having your photo taken with one next the the funeral home booth.
It had been a very long day already and I was the youngest in the building by almost 40 years.
I rather like Mr. Johnson and think he would do great things if elected. He is just a genuinely nice family oriented man. There are not near enough of them in politics. That is just my opinion.

A Clear Calm Day!!
We have been waiting for this corn crib to just go ahead and fall over.
We figured it would fall over in one of the horrible storms that blew over us but it didn't. It decided to fall over July 22nd about 2 in the afternoon. It was calm out, no breeze whatsoever. Austin and I were at the kitchen sink washing dishes (I should have known it would happen at that time, he never helps wash dishes). So therewe are I am washing dishes and Austin is drying and we hear this large crash. I thought Hyde had tipped over the trash again. Look over my shoulder and trip over the dog asleep at my feet and then it dawns on us that it came from outside. We run outside and see that the coopala is no longer on top of the corn crib.
Austin is excited now because it is safe enough for him to start working on it again. Occasionaly I hear a popping or creaking sound coming from it but I am relativly certain that he knows not when to push his luck and will be safe.

It only took a week...
Well I guess I should count myself as lucky that it wasn't me that had to take the snake outside. I had asked him everyday. EVERYDAY!! To take it outside and either kill it or take it far far FAR away from our property.
One whole week.
So finally he runs out of clean underwear and decides he had better do something about the stupid snake.
Austin goes to the basement and takes the box off the glass bowl and the bowl off the snake and it just stays there all coiled. That is when Austin puts on his leather gloves and goes to grab it and it strikes.
At this point I would have shat my pants had it been me grabbing for it but not my husband. He gets this evil grin and I swear I hear him laugh. He denies it but anyways. He starts to play with it.
Playing with it in my basement. I just have this vision of this snake getting away from him while playing with it so I yell down the stairs, "For crying out loud, take it outside. Then you can play with it, you damned idiot! I swear you lose that snake and you will be sleeping in that basement till you find it!"
That might be when he got annoyed with me. I would have thought that would have happened on day two of me asking him to get it out of my house. But anyways. So he grabs the snake and starts to chase me through the kitchen. I could have killed him.
He finally gets it outside and takes it to the side yard grabbing a spade on the way. He looks around for the perfect spot puts the snake on the grass and grabs its head and shoves the shovel on it. Stands on the shovel taking the head off clean.
At this point he just has a hold of the body by the tail so he flings it at me. As you can imagine that instantly sets me off.
It took him 30 minutes to find the hide-a-key to get back in the house. I don't know why he has to be such a butt to me.
We have found where they are getting in but there isn't much we can do about it. They are getting in a drain. I havetold asked my husband to put a wire mesh in the drain in hopes of stopping them from coming up. Hopefully he will have it done by winter.
It's okay, I am laughing too. Mine though is more of apsycho humor me laugh, but still laughing.

Out Of Time...
I have so much else to report on but am out of time for today. So here are some things I'll be posting about this week now that I have the time.
- The snake I thought was dead drama
- The corn crib and a calm day
- bathroom remodel
- Jamie Johnson, politician
- due to recent developments: PUPPIES
- Mason's new accomplishments and no it isn't walking
- suspicious activities in the neighborhood
Next week- When I get back from Mom and Dad's
- Rodeo
- Great-Grandparents
Now to continue with my busy week by getting myself and Mason ready to go to town. What fun!!
Puppies and the sort..
Why does it seem like when you are the busiest that that is when everything will go wrong?
Friday really REALLY early morning Hyde decided to throw up all over our bed. Over the next 24 hours wasn't able to keep anything down and was swollen around the middle. Hyde is usually a very active little dog and would think nothing of jumping on my kitchen counters. He was really sick and was just not himself. he wouldn't even jump on to the couch or over the baby gate and didn't want to be touched. Odd for a little lap dog so Saturday we had to take him for an emergency vet visit. Turns out we had a right to be concerned he was very sick with pancreatitis. Now we are on antibiotics for 7 days and on prescription food. So three-hundred dollars later we have a puppy on the mind. He is feeling a lot better but is not up to his usual self quite yet.
We are currently looking for another outside dog. The dog we currently have, Bubber, came with the property and is 14 years old and has started to have seizures. I am afraid his days are coming to an end. We would like to get another one soon so that it can learn from Bubber how to stay close to the house, bark at strangers and where to sleep. Hopefully in the next month or so we will have one.
My husband wanted to be involved in the search until I ruled out: Boxers, Pitt Bulls, Great Danes, Dobermans, Mastiffs, Basset Hounds, Boston Terriers, Bulldog, Bull Terriers, Bull Mastiffs, Dogue de Bordeaux, German Shepherd, German Pinscher, Rottweiler, Saint Bernard, or any mixed of above aforementioned or miniatures of aforementioned.
I want something that will be good with Mason and will warn in case of trouble but isn't able to kill me if I correct it for something. I know some of the breeds I mentioned are good dogs for some people but not for us. Some I ruled out because of aggressive tendencies, or too big dog poopie piles. The DPP must be of a manageable level. I like to walk around outside barefoot and don't want to step in a steamy DPP that would cover my foot.
Instead of argueing with me about it Austin decided it was wisest to just let me pick.
As I was typing this my mom called and I told her we were looking for an outside dog and she told me Darin's girlfriend Tasia had some mini Australian Shepherds which are my dream dogs and sell for around $500-$800. Therefore the 'dream'. She is asking $25. She has two a red merle male and a black tri female. So a little call to Austin and we are getting two puppies this weekend. I am so excited I could just break into song but being unable to carry a tune I think I will refrain. Friday cannot come soon enough.
Amazing how fast things work when your mom works at a vet clinic.

I think I have TB...
I sat at a booth at the county fair for a good portion of the week. I think I have cronic TB, otherwise known as Tired Butt.
It was a nice week. I personally had fun. We were in an air conditioned building so we didn't have to deal with the heat and humidity. I'm sure I would be singing a different tune if it had been the other way around.
My house has suffered greatly with my being gone so much. With Austin fending for himself my dishes had piled up to a shameful level but I could not bring myself to stay up late and wash them. I did make sure they were scrapped though. Nothing worse that putting your hand on a dirty plate and not knowing what it was.
I have realized that Austin just will not wash dishes and the fight to try to get him to is not worth it. After all I do not like sleeping on the couch and still having a grouchy husband. I much rather like to 'play' with him than to 'fight'. Call me crazy. And besides he is starting on my bathroom this week. I can hardly contain my excitement. But now back to my case of TB.
I even took Mason with me to the fair a couple of days and he did awesome. He really loves his stroller and will sit in it for hours just waiting for it to move. Everyone that saw him had to comment on how well behaved he was. Don't think I made him stay in the stroller the whole time I did let him out to play. I am just glad I don't have one those kids that always wants out of the stroller to get into trouble. He is happy with a couple of toys to play with on his tray.
So after me being gone a good majority of the week Austin decides that he is ready to start the bathroom and needs me to pick out stuff. Little did I know that he had planned on his parents coming over on Sunday morning. His mom to watch Mason while he and his dad worked on AutoCad laying out the plans for the bathroom. So instead of me being home washing dishes and cleaning he had me go with him to Lowe's and Menards. We would literally get home put Mason to bed and then go to bed ourselves.
So my house was a disaster when my mother-in-law came over on Sunday morning. How embarrassing. Austin didn't even care. Maybe that is because I try so hard to keep the house so that I can enjoy it. I know my idea of clean (lived in but tidy) and his mom's idea of clean are not the same thing (think sterile hospital). I could have strung him up by his toenails.

Songs of Joy
"Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy."- Psalm 126:5
I have to believe this because the alternative is something I don't wish to go thru. I wait for my songs of joy because it is all I can do. I know that one day they will come and the tears will stop.
If I knew when this would happen I would put a ticker in the sidebar but I do not know what timeline God follows so I follow blindly knowing he will not lead me to anything he will not follow me thru. Even on my worst days I feel his love and know that one day I will get my songs and cannot wait.

Nap Time
So, yesterday, as I was trying to put Mason down for a nap it sounded like we were getting dive bombed by military jets. Just kidding!! Let me set this up.
It is about 11:30 in the morning and it is beautiful outside a light breeze, sun shinning, birds chirping and the scent of honeysuckle wafting in the open windows. When all of a sudden seemingly out of nowhere this little plane flies overhead and seems to be circling the house. Over and over again. Mason not wanting to take a nap but needing to take a nap was being difficult. I decided that I needed a couple of minutes to myself as happens everyday when he takes a nap. So I lay him down in the p-n-p, grab the camera and head outside. Mind you as I shut the door I can still hear Mason screaming his head off. (This only last about 2 minutes and then he is asleep)
Hyde and I set off to find this plane. We are surrounded by corn fields so it really could be anywhere. I hear it to the north of us so we have to walk to the very northeast corner of the property to be able to see the plane. That is when I got these pics.

This guy knew I was taking photos and flew right over me a couple of times before taking off for another field. So today I am trying to track him down and get some of the photos to him.
For all those who think what a horrible Mommy leaving her child crying inside. This is what he was doing when I got back. I was never out of ear shot and am honestly surprised he could sleep with the plane over the house.

No Internet
Not to be melodramtic or anything but this evening our power went off during a thunderstorm and we had no internet. It only last for about 10 minutes but I was still like 'OMG! We have no internet' and I wasn't even on the computer at the time. How sick is that? Sometimes I get these totally irrational thoughts and have no idea where they come from.
As you can see we up and running again so no fear here. I can now sleep peacefully now.

Only Monday!
Today is only Monday. The rest of the week I will be stuck sitting at a booth at the Hamilton County Fair. What fun! Hopefully the building is air conditioned.

So I Thought The Snake Was Dead...
Ya, it wasn't. It is still there. Alive under a glass bowl. ALIVE in my basement. I cannot think of anything worse. Well I can but I would rather not.

AHHHH!!!
Austin is coming home today! I am so excited I just cannot wait. This week has gone by so slow and been so hot and down right miserable out. I am just ready to have him home.
Then I can start counting down the days until he goes out of town again... I think I get just as excited for that because then he is out of my hair for a couple of days. I just can't handle the week long business trips. I rather like the one or two night ones.

WWWAT- Summertime
I've decided to join in on the Wordless Wednesday With A Twist over at American Mum.
This weeks theme is summertime so here is my take on it.
Thunderstorms. This I believe is the storm that caused the tornado in Parkersburg Iowa.
Laundry out on the line. In this case bed sheets.
(If you look real close in the bushes in front there is a lightening finger.)
