More snow is on the way... I've heard 5-7 and 6-8 starting Monday morning, adding in some wind on Tuesday and end snowing on Wednesday morning, but the wind is to continue until maybe Thursday afternoon.

That means some wonderful drifts. What should only be about 8 inches of snow will end up looking like 20 inches with some drifts taller than me.

That means my favorite guy in the whole world, the UPS guy, of course, will probably be late. Oh, and Austin will probably end up working from home at least one day...

And the most exciting news this month... Austin is gonna be over seas for 2 weeks!!

The end of February he will spend one week in Slovakia and a week in Germany.

I will be spending two weeks at my mom's. Bonus: I get to drive the truck because it has to go to the dealership to have a little work done. We figured this would be the perfect time to get it done because he will be out of town and won't have to drive my car.

I'm gonna go start counting down the days...

Nikon

After Tricia's comment yesterday I realized I wrote that I was getting a camera but neglected to say what one I was getting. I was just so excited!

I'm getting the Nikon D7000.

Now to save my pennies for a new lens. I'm thinking the 50mm 1.4 or maybe the 60mm 2.8 or maybe the 24-70mm 2.8. Until then my 35mm 1.8 will work just fine. I do love that little lens! 99.5% of my pictures are taken with that little beauty. No small number considering I've taken about 40,000 shots with that little camera of mine.
And after writing this little blog I'm thinking I should probably have signed up for AdSense or connected myself to amazon... O'well. At least you know I'm just showing links and not getting money in return.

Impulse Buying At It's Best

I am great at procrastinating!! Especially since I got my Kindle... But I am currently out of new 'books' to read... and nothing sounded good when I checked online for a new one... A first I am sure!

Here I am worry about my lack of hair shedding, surfing the internet, procrastinating finishing my quilt along quilt top because you know I have a three year old... When all of a sudden I get an email.

An email from Amazon.

An email telling me that the camera I want is 'on sale' or you know back down to the original msrp anyways.

So what do I do?

I order my camera of course. Duh! Well and then I called Austin to 'ask' him if it was okay if I spent that kind of money. He has no clue about our finances... Just the way I like it!

Next week I'll have to be sure to order another battery and a couple more sd cards. I can't stand not having two batteries. I have also had a rash of corrupted sd cards. Which let me tell you sucks so very bad... I'm just thankful I didn't lose too many photos and that they were just mine.

And now that it is Friday I know I won't be getting my new camera until Wednesday or so for sure. Next week is gonna drag. But hopefully I start shedding hair again. I can't even begin to imagine how thick and unruly my hair will become if I don't start losing more of it and I sure don't want to have to go get it thinned because then I'm stuck with thick spots and thin spots... But on the bright side maybe I won't plug up the shower as fast now.
I have a problem.

I shed hair.

I shed hair like crazy...

Think, like, four months post baby but all the time...

At least I had this problem until Tuesday. As in 3 days ago Tuesday. I don't know what happened but I'm just not shedding like normal... I have way to much as it is so I have no clue what will happen now...

Am I weird to be concerned about this?

Quilt Along

I decided to join a quilt along at p.s. i quilt. I had bought this fabric with a different style of throw quilt in mind. After I saw what her quilt along was though I just knew that I would rather have that than the other design. I started a couple of weeks late but have plans to finish on time... Although that mean my picture editing for the remainder of my 365 is on hold. I am nothing if not a great procrastinator.

It is gonna be so very pretty!!

Wheatsfield...

Everytime I go to Ames I have to make a stop at Wheat.sfield, the organic grocery store. I don't get to 'town' very often and it seems to coincide with when my husband runs out of shampoo and body soap. My husband opts to use organic. I cannot stand the stuff. They seem to have such a strong smell that I get headaches. I actually ran out of shampoo a couple of months ago and had the choice to use his or use bar soap. I wish I had used the bar soap! I went that same night and got some shampoo for me. I showered before going to bed but I couldn't get rid of the smell. For 3 days everytime I turned my head I would smell that shampoo.
My trips to Wheat.sfield though are not without benefit. They sell such yummy snack food. Organic chips and homemade organic salsa. Yum!!
These bagel chips are by far my favorite though!!

This is what my new bag looks like after my husband finds it....

He thinks this is okay. I don't.

They also sell a sweet potato chip/cracker that are just delish.

I Can...

Several weeks ago (early November to be exact) I downloaded a new theme for my photography and 365 project blogs.

Several weeks ago (early November to be exact) I asked my husband to install said new theme to my photography and 365 project blogs.

Several weeks go by and he still hadn't done it. So the other night I asked again and he pulled up his blog making website and told me to just do it. So I whined enough that he paused M*A*S*H and came over to walk me through it.

Can I tell you just how really simple it was!! I couldn't believe it! He asked me why I didn't just do it myself and I said why when you are right here.

I don't think he was too happy with me.

So far it is just on my photography website and I still have a couple of things to change that I'm just not happy with but for now it will do. Oh, and that is my as close to my actual signature at the top as it is gonna get. I just wrote it out on my bamboo pad and saved it as a logo. No one can accuse me of stealing font that is for sure.

Maybe next week I'll get it put on my 365 blog. But truthfully it will probably be the next week or even the one after that. I'm nothing if not predictable.

365 project

I have not touched my camera since January 1st.

I don't even feel guilty.

I feel relieved.

How sad is that?

I just spent the last year thinking about what photo I was gonna take for the day. Do you know how stressful that is? To constantly be reminding yourself of something you have to do... I had every intention of just continuing my 365 project into the new year but have decided to just wait a couple of months and start my new one on March 1st. My next one will be different. I will be taking a photo everyday but not everyday will necessarily be posted. Some days I will just write about what we did, or where we went, or who we saw, or how blue the sky was. As I was posting the photos from August I noticed that the ones I decided to put on the actual blog are kinda repetitive. I posted several of the strawberries, sometimes every other day, or of the tomatoes, again sometimes every other day. Not because those are the only ones I took but because I didn't want to post any of the others.

I don't think Austin is aware of it yet but I also have plans to order my new camera in the next month or so... He'll get over it. He has asked me several times if he gets my old one so I think he knows what is coming. I mean, really, he can see what is in the savings... He's an intelligent guy... (I wrote that without laughing too...)

...

More snow in the forecast... 6-8 by tomorrow morning... I am so ready for some warmer weather...

I ended up staying at my parents house until Thursday. . . I had a blast! Right... Somehow I got roped into helping my little sister move, making supper one night, and watching over 7 hours of House and NCIS each... Don't get me wrong we don't just watch tv. There is a lot of conversation in there too. You know teasing each other, insults, off color jokes. Nothing like having a older brother... or little sister... or little brother... or older sister... I mean you knew I was the middle of 5, right?

Since I have been back I have been working on my 365 project. And laundry. I have come to the consensus that I will never get both finished.

There is nothing more torturous than editing photos from July and August that you know it was over 90 out and you look out your window and there is snow being blown around by some very cold hard wind. I just have to sit back and think Woo Hoo August is almost done!!

So I better keep going... I have lots to get done today, and tomorrow, and the next day...

Oh and Austin is leaving town Wednesday and not getting back till Friday.... I sure hope the roads are good enough that Mason and I get out for supper. I refuse to cook while Austin is gone!

Happy New Year!!

I wasn't sad to see 2010 go...

Now that the holidays are over I can get back to my regularly scheduled... schedule...

I have all my photos for my 365 challenge! Now that the holidays are over and the sewing machine is put away for awhile I can actually get them edited and posted. After all what else is there to do in Iowa in January? That's right! It is cold, the wind is blowing, and the sunshine is lying! It lies until mid-April.

This weekend though I am off to my parents house with Mason for a couple or 4 days. I don't get to go near as often as I used to. My husband sure isn't complaining about that though. I have been babysitting a little 5 month old little girl and so I know that I have to be home on Monday mornings by 10. I told her parents that I was taking a couple of days off next week so I won't be home until Tuesday.

I think my husband is looking forward to a couple of days alone. I can't say as that I blame him. What I wouldn't give for a couple of days alone at home. Let's just say it would pauper me.

I'm looking forward to 2011 being a great year for me. I have plans to branch off my photography from being the 'go-to' newborn photographer to more of everything. I've also got some fine art photography opportunities coming up that I am super excited about. I also have 2 weddings on my calendar... I'm a little nervous but I'm sure I'll get over it... hopefully...

And now I have to get off here and go get Mason and I packed to leave... Should be fun... but first I think I'll go wake up the husband just because I didn't get to sleep in.

Oh and I got to start the new year off with my period. I'm hoping and praying this is a good sign!!
