Since I was putting up new curtains I decided to put up some mini blinds also because the afternoon sun beating in the kitchen is almost unbearable. It hits the sink just right and makes washing dishes in the afternoon and early evening torture.
Well the curtains and mini blinds are now up.
I even used Austin's drill for pre-drilling the holes. Yay me!! I didn't even have any major catastrophes. Austin thinks I'm so helpless. Hah!! I just wanted the blinds and curtains put up how I wanted and you know the old saying 'If you want something done right better do it yourself.'
I am proud of myself for putting up my own blinds though.
I really don't like the curtains in the kitchen. They just don't go with all the stuff in the kitchen. My whole house is very laid back and casual and I think they are just too fussy looking for my taste. Now I will be on the hunt for new curtains to replace the ones I don't like. I swear it is a never ending vicious circle.
I also bought a curtain for the hallway upstairs so that we can block the sun from blinding me way too early in the morning... I love the curtain I put up there. It is a heavy, dark, navy blue. I even put it on a decorative rod with matching holdbacks. I think it really finishes the americana theme I have going on up the stairs into the little landing. Thankfully it tones down the red just a little.
This evening Mason and I are going over to the in-laws to drop off fresh green beans. Fun stuff. So I'd better go blow the stink off me (get in the shower). I might have been smoking after Mason went to bed last night. I figure he is over in Slovakia drinking I should be able to smoke. He can't even deny that he was drinking because he was slurring his words pretty bad last night. The lush has one glass of wine and gets tipsy. He doesn't usually drink over there but they had dinner at the hotel instead of driving to a restaurant so he did.
I can't wait to get my camera back from Austin so I can take photos of my handiwork...
